Hi! I’m Christi Eldridge, MPT and I’ve been a pediatric physical therapist for 30 years. I have lived and worked in the Santa Clarita Valley for most of my career and have always felt lucky to work with so many amazing kids & families who become like family to me.
I have extensive experience working with young children and babies with Down Syndrome, Cerebral Palsy, Autism, Torticollis, Prematurity, Drug Exposure, Mitochondrial Disease and other genetic and chromosomal diagnoses that have resulted in asymmetries in movement and developmental delays.
Working with kids and helping them make meaningful strides in their development is my passion. My goal is to help your child develop and move more efficiently, setting a strong foundation for them as they continue to progress through childhood and adolescence.
How We Can Help with Pediatric Physical Therapy
Depending on what your family needs, I can do in-person or virtual consultations, evaluations and therapy sessions. I will give each child a home program that will meet their specific needs.
Q:
When is my baby old enough for tummy time?
A:
Tummy time is very important for babies, right from the beginning. After birth, place the baby on your chest or lap on their tummy. At 3-4 weeks, you can place the baby on their tummy on a blanket on the floor.
The amount of time you leave your baby on their tummy will depend on how your baby tolerates the position. Initially, leave your baby on the tummy until the baby begins to fuss, even if it’s just a few minutes. Place your baby on their tummy several times a day, working towards increasing the amount of time they will tolerate tummy time. By 3 months old, it is good for the baby to be on their tummy for 1 hour per day. This can be 15 minutes 4 times per day. Remember to supervise your baby during tummy time!
